Leicester Square
So its the return to the West end , this time the lord opened a door for us. After various calls to Westminster council and the Metropolitan police I finally got through to a lady who was really helpful. I met the same council worker from Septembers outreach who was very helpful, special thanks to you Sayenna!
We played some music over the PA while handing out tracts and praying for the people in the area as they passed through. I then did some songs and one by one people began to assemble around. Paria continued to pray as I did some preaching and to my surprise people still remained to listen to what was being said.
We met a Pastor who does homeless outreaches in the area, he was an encouragement to all of us and an answered need on our part as we where looking for a way to bless homeless people during the winter period. He showed me the area’s to go to and the shelters in the area..stay tuned for more about this.
There were some young and older Christians who did stop and listen to all that was said and I believe it showed a different facet to what Christians can actually do for God. God is using every talent we have be it Art , poetry , Maths , Science , Dance etc, Ps Dave Damron from California(who was with us in September ) went surfing and won people to Christ at the beach, he then started a painting business and discipled with that talent too. If we submit our plans to the lord he will guild us to win people to the Lord and bring glory to our father in heaven.
There were two young guys who said “I didn’t know this was possible” (Speaking about rapping for the lord). I managed to speak to one guy who was handing out flyer’s for a local nightclub, he said to me “I’m feeling this , I need to start doing more positive stuff with my Life” (Paraphrased). I did take some of their details down and am praying that this will be a Matthew 4:18-22 testimony, so please pray that I will return to this blog with a testimony about these men.
One thing I noticed is it can get discouraging when you don’t see people outwardly commit to the lord, Instead you find Christians listening to you and you automatically assume because they said that they are Christians then that means there heart is right with God when it could be the total opposite. I remember when I had no fellowship with Christians, no prayer life , didn’t own a bible, was all about my career and my life but claimed to be a Christian. When you look at what the bible calls a Christian and look at me back then i was not a True Christian.
Alternatively you could see loads of people come to the lord by saying a prayer with you but you never see them again. There are Christians on the brink of suicide , walking with no purpose in their life and sadly there are Christians who have been hurt by the Church and are considering giving up their faith.
The point I am trying to raise it that God can see the heart of man and brings us to meet people for specific reasons. Paul spoke in Corinthians about some plant the seed, others water and God causes it to grow. We should not be discouraged when we don’t see people come to the lord and not get too proud when loads come to the lord but be grateful to have the privilege of planting the seeds or watering. Our mission as Christians is to be faithful to sow into every field that God gives us and he will cause the growth in his time.Special shout to Paria who worked tirelessly for the Gospel on Friday and thank you to all who prayed for us please continue to lift up this movement in prayer.
The next night outreach is the 31st December 2007 in Camden Town outside HSBC BANK….join us to spread the word
