From Foe to Friend
Last week was the second Friday going out to reach out to the people in Central London. I was joined by Kulvinda, Rob , and a few other friends. We began with a word of prayer and as we began ministering a homeless man came up to us and Kulvinda shared his faith with him. He was quite young and into Hip hop so listened to the music, in between the songs we normally have a short preach. During this section the homeless guy began yelling and swearing at us because he didn’t agree with what was being said. In the meantime I spoke to the people who were watching Kulvinda rap and preach.
Then 20mins later the guy came back and apologized for being rude then we spoke with them about Christ, I will never forget when he said to us “Thank you for coming out here guys” these guys were slightly drunk when we arrived but when we left they seemed so sober and liberated. Its only God that could have communicated to them the truth of the Gospel,On the way home we went through Piccadilly circus, we stopped in front of HMV and used the platform to rap. We were joined by many who wanted to hear the music, Rob performed a few songs with Ldeep and others.
The speaker had the message “Freedom is in God” a message that caused a Muslim and Rastafarian guy to come up to us and speak about God, Rob shared his faith with the guys and we then went home. What I got from those two guys was a hunger for truth but in a city where everyone keeps to themselves its so hard for people to hear the Gospel. This is why we need to go out there and give them the answers that were given to us.
We can debate about the issues of evangelism all day but unless we do something about it now then our city will continue to be a spiral of suicides, murders and broken homes. We need to reach our communities and let God change hearts…..
