Back on the Streets

The story starts off at 22:30 in Victoria, As soon as we arrive there are a group of travelers who stopped and sat on the floor listening to the Gospel being preached through rap. One man stopped and did not leave till the song was finished. As I spoke to him God was showing me this man was hungry for the truth. I spoke to him and he said that he kind of believes but is struggling, I said I would pray for him.

Its midnight and we arrive in Trafalgar square, its a peace full atmosphere and we stand in the corner playing music softly and praying for London, at this point a Muslim guy rides up to us, I shared my faith with him and he said he was not really following Islam but i encouraged him to read about Jesus. On the way to Piccadilly circus we meet a group of French and Italian party goers, we tell them about the Gospel to which some rejected but a couple seemed intrigued by the music and took a Cd which we told him was the Gospel, we invited them to the upcoming Unashamed UK tour.

We are now on the street corner next to Cafe de Paris night club on Coventry street. Rob starts playing some lecrea and a young guy comes up to me and asks me to change the song. Now the last time I was here I got threatened by a few Muslim guys who did not like the lyrics. This time round I decided to keep playing the music. It turned out he wanted to rap. So he began free styling, a few other young guys came as well and began to share there lyrics too. At this point there is a group of about 15 young people all listening to the freestyles, by this point I’m mad nervous as I’m about to start rapping about God.

I begin free styling and people are still listening and nodding their heads, Rob [Open mic] begins sharing his testimony of Jesus in his life through rap and people are still listening. I see the police walking up to us and I wondered if they would stop this rowdy looking group of guys rapping on the street corner at 01:20 in the morning. They all walk past and I’m like Praise God!!

By this point we have an onlooking a crowd of about 30 people, some walk by mocking me, one guy took my cap and started nodding his head trying to look cool but he made me laugh while rapping, i had to start the song again and the night went on till about 2am……I was just about to click send when I remembered a group of guys who sat and watched the whole outreach, I sense these guys really took in the Gospel so please pray for all that heard the word, Special shout out to Liz, Nola and Henry…Thanks for your prayers on Friday night!

Until next time

God Bless
